Join us for an FREE exciting weekend for bird enthusiast as Travel Meigs County, TWRA, the Birchwood Area Society Improvement Council, and the Cherokee Removal Memorial Park bring to you the Tennessee Sandhill Crane Festival in celebration of the thousands of Sandhill Cranes that come back to visit our area each winter. This two day festival provides premier wildlife viewing, entertainers, historical information about the Cherokee Nation, vendors, and more! Whether you're a seasoned bird enthusiast or just curious about our feathered friends, this event promises an unforgettable experience. Parking can be found at three locations:

(1) The Birchwood Community Center - 5623 Highway 60, Birchwood, TN 37308

(2) The Birchwood Baptist Church located - 5436 Highway 60, Birchwood, TN 37308, and (3) The Cherokee Removal Memorial Park - 6800 Blythe Ferry Lane, Birchwood, TN 37308 

Free shuttles run a loop from each parking location to the School, Memorial, and the Hiwassee Refuge.
